70' Boat Beached At Playa Del Rey

This 70-foot cabin cruiser went aground back on February 27. According to reports, the captain awoke in the middle of the night to find that he was dragging anchor. He was unable to get the engine started and the rough seas that night sent the boat onto the beach. Luckily missing the rocks. Everyone was able to get off the boat, unfortunately, not much was able to be done for the boat since. It has been sitting here in sand getting destroyed more and more everyday by the waves and by vandals.

The owner is need of help to remove his boat from the beach, this is from a donation site he has set up:

"My name is Cosmo, I am 49 years old, and for the past five years have been battling congestive heart failure.I am disabled on a fixed income. The "Angelique" was our pension , our retirement, and our life savings all in one basket. She was our past our present and our future. Not to mention our pride and joy.Due to the response of my insurance company. I have no choice but to reach out to the public for assistance.Your contributions will help me remove the "Angelique" to her final resting place and restore the beach to its original state. Please I need your help to complete this task, Beaches and Harbors will invoice me triple the cost and it will take the rest of my life to pay thier amount. We lost everything, and durring the nights of our recovery what personal belongings which were salvageable went to the looters. I.hope it helped their families.I have three boys, thier rooms were ransacked, everything a young boy values was taken. My only goal is to return our Beach in the way I found it. Thank You"
