Day 9 of the Vans US Open Of Surfing also saw the Womens Surf competition come to a close. The field had been narrowed down to 4 for the Semi-Final: Malia Manuel vs Tyler Wright, followed by Sally Fitzgibbons vs Stephanie Gilmore.
Tyler Wright and Stephanie Gilmore both won their semi-final heats and went up against each other for the final.
Tyler ended up out-scoring Gilmore by 1.61 to take the win.
