Aaron Fotheringham was born with Spina Bifida, a birth defect of the spinal cord that resulted in him having no usage of his legs, but that didn't stop him from doing whatever anyone else could. At the age of 8, after watching his brother do it several times, he tried to dropped in on a quarter-pipe. He did fall, but not the type to give up so easily, he tried till he made it. He was now hooked.
With the encouragement of his parents, Aaron kept riding the skatepark, trying new things, inventing new tricks, progressing what he calls "Wheelchair Moto-Cross". Attempting such tricks, Aaron always wore a full face helmet, “Don’t be an idiot!” is his mantra. A broken wheelchair did almost ended it all, he was unable to afford a new one, until his friends raised money to get him a wheelchair strong enough to take the abuse. Soon Aaron got the attention of the wheelchair manufacturer, his bag of tricks, including a mid air 180*, got him a sponsorship. Taking advantage of social media, Aaron posted videos of his newest tricks to his Facebook Page, which rapidly gained fans world-wide. He now has several sponsors, has gotten preform all over the world, even gone on tour with Nitro Circus as a team member. Aaron also coaches and mentors at a camp for disable children, showing them that a wheelchair can be a toy, not a restriction.
Aaron's sponsors include Box Wheelchairs and Unit Clothing
