Venice Beach Surfing: First Storm Of December - Wednesday

The first of several predicted storms rolled through southern California during the first week of December, bringing with it some decent waves to the west facing surf spots. Venice Beach saw overhead sets at the Breakwater and at the pier on Wednesday morning as the rain came down.

Wednesday Rain Wipeouts

Allen Sarlo Surfing In The Storm.

The rain on Wednesday didn't stop some surfers from getting out there to catch some of the 6'-7' plus waves that the forecast was calling for. Legendary Z-Boy Allen Sarlo was out among a handful of others surfing the Venice Beach Breakwater as the rain came pouring down.

Venice Breakwater Surf

Not as nearly huge as the waves were two weeks ago, but Venice got some good sets this past Saturday. The north side of the Venice Breakwater, which we rarely catch anyone at, had a some good waves and good size crowd on them all morning.That is where this set of photos was taken.

Makaha Bowl Jam Registration Now Open

Registration for the second Annual Venice Makaha Bowl Jam/Snake Run Contest is now open. the cotest will take place in the venice skate Park on Saturday, December 13.
